Bulldog Blog

Deja is a product of generational hope.

Nineteen years ago, her father, Paul, enrolled at the Denver Street School after being less than successful in the public school system. At fifteen years old with two children of his own, Paul needed a school that would work closely with him academically and would help him to turn his chaotic life around. Under the instruction and mentorship of the early Denver Street School staff, Paul graduated in 1995 and changed the direction of his young family forever.

Today, Paul's second youngest daughter Deja is a senior at the West Campus in Lakewood. Deja is determined to follow in the footsteps of her father, as well as her two older sisters Britany and Elena who all three graduated from DSS. Deja is an honor roll student and a leader within the senior class and school as a whole and often jokes about how "someday when [she] is older and has kids, that they will be Bulldogs too."

It is your donations that make stories like Paul and Deja's possible!
